Copper Elegance

A curbless bathroom reconstruction pairing large-format polished tile, integrated floor heat and handcrafted copper details with demanding technical precision.

Copper Elegance began as an insurance restoration after water damage in a bathroom that looked high-end on the surface. Once the room was opened up, the rebuild became an opportunity to correct the substrate, reconstruct the shower opening and plan the finished assembly around the exact dimensions of the existing custom glass enclosure.

The shower was converted to a curbless design and tied into a continuous waterproofing strategy that extends beyond the shower itself. The bathroom floor was prepared for 24 x 48 in. polished tile and integrated floor heat, with movement accommodation built into the tile assembly for long-term performance.

The room is defined visually by its handcrafted copper bathtub and matching vessel sinks. Against the bright polished tile, the darker copper gives the finished space a warmth and character that is completely different from the system work hidden underneath it.

Copper Elegance received the 2026 TTMAC Hardsurface Awards Residential Award, credited by TTMAC to Schluter Systems & WNA Tile.
