Herringbone Inlay
A marble-look backsplash that shifts from a clean horizontal field into a full herringbone range feature.
This backsplash uses the same marble-look material in two orientations: a quieter horizontal field around the kitchen and a full herringbone feature behind the range. That change in pattern gives the cooking wall a focal point without introducing another material.
The important part is the transition. Herringbone creates a strong visual rhythm, so the feature needs to land deliberately against the surrounding field, cabinetry and range hood rather than simply stopping wherever the pattern happens to end.
The finished result keeps the warm existing cabinetry and countertop while adding a much sharper layer of movement and detail.
